3 cups self-raising flour
2 tsp icing sugar
50g butter chilled
1¼ cups milk
Milk to brush
Jam of choice & whipped cream, to serve
Preheat oven to 220°C
Combine the flour and icing sugar in a large bowl
Add butter using fingertips to rub through
Add milk to flour and mix through with a butter knife until dough forms
Knead the dough until it just comes together
Ball together scones on lightly floured oven tray
Lightly brush tops with milk
Bake on the top shelf of the oven for 12-14
Serve fresh with whipped cream + jam
